Slow morning - The perfect way to start a productive day
Slow mornings are all about starting your day with intention, doing things slowly and setting the pace for a productive day. The benefits of slow mornings include feeling more motivated, focused and energised for the day ahead.
Preparing for your slow morning
There are a few things to consider before you incorporate slow mornings into your week. Before you develop a slow morning routine ask yourself these two questions:
1. What day/s of the week would I like to go slow or start at a relaxed pace?
You can schedule in a slow Monday morning or a mid-week slow morning.
2. What aspect of my morning routine would I like to focus on?
You need to think about which aspect of your morning you want to focus on. This can be writing, reading, skincare routine or making a healthy breakfast. You can choose a few of these activities but do not combine too many things to ensure that you have a relaxed morning.
How to prepare for a slow morning
Wake up early
Waking up early or can give you the time to extend your slow morning and ensure you truly move at a relaxed pace. You can wake up an hour and a half before you start your day to give yourself ample time.
When you wake up try not to start thinking about your to-do list or jump straight into activities for the day. Try to start the day calmly. You can take some time to get in touch with how you are feeling. Ask yourself, are you still quite tired? Do you need to stretch?
To ensure you go slow it is better to plan for your morning. This will help to save time and avoid a hectic morning. This can include you prepping your breakfast or lunch. Preparing your workbag or your office outfit the night before or writing a to-do list for your working day.
